Bay Meadows Phase II
San Mateo, CA
Bay Meadows Phase II represents one of California's most ambitious transit-oriented developments, where Chris White served as Financial Analyst at Stockbridge Capital, providing investment analysis and project management for this transformative 83-acre mixed-use project in San Mateo.
Working daily with development partner Wilson Meany, Chris contributed to executing the comprehensive business plan and capitalizing the diverse components of this master-planned community. The neighborhood is strategically organized into station/mixed-use and residential districts across 18 development blocks, with the station/mixed-use district positioned along Delaware Street to maximize transit accessibility.
Upon completion, Bay Meadows Phase II will deliver 1,250 residential units ranging from three-story for-sale townhomes to five-story apartment buildings, 1.25 million square feet of office space, 150,000 square feet of retail, and 15 acres of parks and open space. The project exemplifies smart growth principles by concentrating diverse land uses around transit infrastructure.
Chris's role involved the complex financial analysis and strategic positioning required for this large-scale urban infill redevelopment, contributing to Stockbridge's portfolio management of $7.8 billion in assets across all major real estate property types. The project demonstrates innovative approaches to creating complete communities that integrate housing, employment, retail, and recreation within a walkable, transit-connected environment.
