Pacifica School District Workforce Housing

A 70-unit workforce housing project is being developed on a former school site in Pacifica to address the critical challenge of attracting and retaining qualified educators. To maximize funding opportunities, the development was designed to be built in either one or two phases, with a mix of two-story townhouses and flats ranging from one to three bedrooms to accommodate diverse district employee housing needs.

The project includes ancillary facilities, dedicated parking, and enhanced adjacent soccer fields, creating a comprehensive community for the district faculty and staff. The development achieved unanimous approval from both the Pacifica Planning Commission and City Council in 2023.

This initiative directly tackles one of the most pressing issues facing California school districts by providing below-market housing options that will allow educators to live affordably and comfortably within the communities they serve. The project will enable the district to focus resources on educational excellence while offering teachers and staff stable, quality housing in an otherwise prohibitively expensive market.

Rivercrest Partners' principals, while with Brookwood Group, helped lead the project development that secured the project entitlements. Ground breaking was November 2024.
