Dominican University of California Analysis
Dominican University of California, a distinguished private institution founded in 1890, sought to enhance its student community through strategic campus growth and development. A comprehensive master planning engagement guided the university's physical expansion, focusing on strengthening the student experience through additional on-campus housing and enhanced campus facilities while exploring revenue generation opportunities through strategic real estate optimization.
The project encompassed extensive site evaluation to determine feasibility for student housing development, detailed analysis of sites that could be sold or leased for campus revenue, and creation of a gateway to the center of campus incorporating plans for a new student union, bookstore, and dining facilities.
The engagement provided Dominican University with a strategic roadmap for campus growth that balanced student housing needs with revenue generation while preserving the campus's historic character.
Alan Katz, as Project Principal at Brookwood Group, led the site planning and project financial analysis that delivered strategic insights for the university's future development.
